It’s been another successful award season for KRISTOPHER GRUNERT, first it was the Applied Arts – Photo Annual for his architectural work, now it is another 1st place in the International Photography Awards. Last year it was for his Moving Image seen here , this year he has returned to his roots and took it in the Industrial category. It may be an early announcement, but we hear he has also taken one at the PDN Self-Promo Awards with his 2010 – A New Decade of Light desktop calendar in digital promotions. For our 2011 calendar we’re heading to… well, actually, the folks we’re going to photograph would rather we don’t say.
What we can tell you is that it’s an island accessible only by boat or plane. A community where people live without electricity or use alternative power. An area where conversation is more likely about composting toilets than it is about advertising or design. There’s lots of home grown vegetables and certain herbs but, most importantly there’s a pub, and that’s where we are going to start!
Luckily this place does have some cell service so we’ll be posting updates on twitter and photographs on our blog.
If you have an iPad, it might make a nice addition to your Flipboard!
So follow our adventures for the next nine days.
Or until our batteries run out.
